Aging 2.0 in Belgium

The first Aging2.0 meeting in Belgium will take place in Brussels on March 10, 2015 in the margins of the European Summit on Innovation for Active and Healthy Ageing. The Aging2.0 | Brussels event will bring together local technology entrepreneurs with industry experts and consumers to discuss novel solutions to improve the quality of life for older adults around the world.
The Aging2.0 event is designed to showcase talented European innovators in aging, as well as kickstart the development of the Aging2.0 | Brussels Chapter.
In addition to Aging2.0 cofounder Stephen Johnston (UK/US) presenters will include:
● Geert Houben from Cubigo (BE) ‘takeaways from Silicon Valley Google Blackbox’
● Frank Verbeek from Gociety (NL) ‘Gociety’s new smartphones for seniors’
● Frank Leyhausen from MedCom (DE) ‘senior crowdsourcing project OpenISA’
The event is free, and will take place from
6:00 8:00pm on March 10th ( http://www.eventbrite.com/e/aging20-brussels-tickets-15960190359), and will include time for networking as well as Q&A with the speakers. Other participants at the event will be entrepreneurs, startups, industry experts, government officials, researchers as well as older adults themselves. All are welcome, though RSVPs are required to manage numbers. “The trends of unprecedented demographic change and exponential technological progress are reshaping society and creating new opportunities, as well as challenges. We are seeing new ecosystems of innovation develop that have the potential to improve the quality of life for our aging populations as well as stimulate muchneeded economic growth.” said Stephen Johnston, Aging2.0 cofounder, who will be hosting the event. “This is global phenomenon, and it’s exciting to be having this conversation in the heart of Europe.” Mr. Johnston will also be speaking on Tuesday March 10 at the European Commission’s Ageing Summit (#AgeingSummit) about new investment opportunities.
